About the Role:
At Spartronics, a Quality Engineer isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to make a measurable impact. In this key position, you’ll help ensure compliance, reduce risk, improve first-pass yield, and build customer confidence across our aerospace, defense, and high-reliability electronics business. You’ll leverage your expertise in AS9100, IPC standards, customer flow-downs, and advanced problem-solving to drive real results. As a Quality Engineer II, you won’t just support improvements—you’ll independently lead investigations, customer interface activities, and cross-functional initiatives. You’ll mentor junior engineers, support strategic quality objectives, and champion a culture of continuous improvement throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and deploy customer flow-downs into actionable quality controls and inspection strategies.
- Ensure manufacturing, inspection, and test processes comply with internal procedures and external requirements.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits; lead audit responses and corrective action activities as assigned.
- Review and approve quality documentation, including control plans, inspection instructions, and quality notes.
- Act as the primary quality point of contact for assigned customers and programs.
- Lead customer complaint investigations, responses, and formal communications.
- Participate in customer meetings, audits, and performance reviews as needed.
- Prepare professional, technically sound written responses that reflect Spartronics’ quality culture and commitment.
- Champion a safe, respectful, and collaborative team environment.
- Implement and maintain effective quality processes and documentation.
- Oversee and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Investigate and resolve quality issues to support product excellence.
- Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance, traceability, and data integrity in all processes.
- Support engineering teams and communicate quality performance to leadership.
- Must be U.S. persons within the definition of ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance. (ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within the medical, military, or aerospace sectors.
- Lean Manufacturing background and skillset.
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective leadership skills for cross-functional investigations and improvement teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of delivering clear technical information and reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality data analysis tools.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in evaluating processes and product data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) certification.
- Skilled in root cause investigation, problem-solving methodologies, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Material Review Board / Nonconforming Material Control.
- IPC and J-STD certifications.
- Experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 QMS standards.

Compensation:
This is an exempt position. Compensation is based on work experience in quality, education, and prior work experience in electronics manufacturing.
