As an Airtable Software Engineer, you will build and optimize a sophisticated Airtable ecosystem that supports cross-functional collaboration and operational efficiency. The position sits at the intersection of engineering and business operations, requiring both architectural thinking and hands-on development. You will work closely with leadership and operational teams to transform complex processes into structured, automated systems. The role emphasizes system scalability, automation, and data integrity while enabling real-time visibility into operational performance. This contract position is fully remote and ideal for engineers who enjoy building durable technical infrastructures that empower fast-growing teams.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and implement scalable Airtable base architectures supporting marketing, design, and program management workflows.

  • Build and maintain relational data models that manage initiatives, deliverables, timelines, reporting layers, and operational capacity planning.

  • Develop advanced automations and custom JavaScript scripts to streamline workflows and enforce data integrity.

  • Integrate Airtable with external tools using APIs, webhooks, and automation platforms to ensure seamless system connectivity.

  • Partner with operational leaders to translate complex workflows into efficient, structured technical systems.

  • Troubleshoot system issues, implement durable solutions, and continuously optimize performance and reliability.

  • Create dashboards and reporting layers that provide real-time operational insights for leadership teams.

  • Establish governance standards, documentation practices, and naming conventions to maintain long-term system health.

Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of experience in systems engineering, operations engineering, or technical program support with strong Airtable expertise.

  • Advanced experience designing and maintaining complex relational Airtable bases with significant automation.

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and experience developing scripts within Airtable’s scripting and automation frameworks.

  • Experience integrating Airtable with external systems via APIs, webhooks, or automation tools.

  • Strong architectural mindset combined with the ability to execute detailed technical implementations.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to system improvements.

  • Experience supporting marketing, creative, product, or design operations in fast-paced environments is a plus.

  • Strong documentation and communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to operate effectively in dynamic environments where priorities and workflows may evolve.
