An L3 Network Engineer is a senior specialist responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex enterprise network infrastructures, focusing on high availability and security. They provide 3rd-level technical support, troubleshooting critical, escalated incidents, and managing WAN/LAN, firewalls, and load balancers.

Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Handling 3rd-level IT tickets and resolving major, critical network incidents.
- Network Design & Implementation: Planning, designing, and deploying enterprise-level network architectures.
- Security & Optimization: Managing firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), VPN gateways, and optimizing network performance.
- Infrastructure Management: Overseeing Data Center, WAN, and LAN technologies, including routers, switches, and load balancers.
- Documentation & Standards: Creating detailed network documentation, configurations, and maintaining standard operating procedures.
- Vendor Management: Coordinating with ISPs and external partners for service delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VRF, HSRP, and VPC.
- Experience: Generally 5+ years of experience in network administration, with strong experience in Cisco, Juniper, or Arista technologies.
- Security Focus: Experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) and intrusion prevention systems.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical abilities for root cause analysis (RCA).
- Certifications: Often requires CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certifications.
- Collaboration: Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and mentoring junior staff.
