Scale House Operator at Sparrow Company LLC – Las Cruces, New Mexico

A respected organization in the aggregate industry is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Weighmaster to support daily scale and inventory operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all incoming and outgoing loads are weighed accurately, documented properly, and processed in compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Accurately weigh incoming and outgoing trucks using scale systems.

• Record and verify weight data to ensure alignment with customer orders, delivery tickets, and internal requirements.

• Issue weigh tickets, invoices, and receipts for all transactions.

• Process customer payments using various payment methods and balance cash received.

• Interact professionally with truck drivers, customers, and internal staff to resolve questions or discrepancies.

• Provide clear instructions to drivers regarding loading, unloading, and weigh-in/weigh-out procedures.

• Assist with tracking and managing inventory levels of aggregate materials.

• Prepare daily reports related to material movement, inventory adjustments, and operations.

• Maintain organized records of weigh tickets, invoices, and related documentation.

• Monitor scale systems and report malfunctions or coordinate maintenance as needed.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to weights and measures.

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while operating equipment.

• Assist with clerical tasks including data entry, report generation, and filing.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Flexible availability to meet operational needs.

• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification and Weighmaster license.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
