About This Position

Altamira Material SolutionsCMM Programmer / Quality Inspector

Location: Houston, TX

Job Summary

Altamira Material Solutions is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector responsible for the programming and operation of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment and the inspection of manufactured products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.

This role requires strong technical expertise in metrology, CMM programming, and mechanical inspection, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for programming and operation of CMM equipment

  • Perform inspection of manufactured products using CMM and traditional inspection tools

  • Create efficient and effective CMM programs to support production and quality requirements

  • Modify and adjust previously written CMM programs as needed

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines

  • Accurately document all job activity and transactions within system(s)

  • Follow and adhere to ISO inspection processes and quality standards

  • Communicate any findings, discrepancies, or quality issues to the Quality Manager

Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution required

  • 3-5+ years of experience in CMM programming (Zeiss Calypso) and operation strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in CMM programming and operation required

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with measuring equipment

  • Working knowledge of metrology principles

  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical inspection and calibration

  • Working knowledge of:

    • GD&T

    • SPC (Statistical Process Control)

    • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems

  • Ability to determine proper tools and methods for measuring parts

  • ASQ certification is a plus

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
