| Physical Requirements | This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time, and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to loud noises, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people. |

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for: Providing patient arrivals Patient Registration Resolution of patient complaints. Collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source. information and correction of registration errors. Collection of patient-responsibility payments at time of service (copays, co-insurance, self-pay estimates).Maintaining HIPAA compliant and comply with all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. Participating in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. The ideal Candidate: Has the ability to perform their work in a fast-paced environment. Work independently and complete tasks efficiently, with an attention to detail. | Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality. |
