The Maintenance Technician III will be responsible for performing a variety of routine operational and maintenance tasks to ensure the equipment’s efficient and safe operation. This includes but is not limited to monitoring, adjustments and reporting of equipment operation, and cleaning, repair, and basic maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains and overhauls mechanical equipment including a variety of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and electromechanical drive units.
- Maintenance scope will include Mixing, Coating, Roll Press, and Notching and Drying equipment.
- Maintain equipment in a low humidity environment (35%, 10% and 1% zones) while following clean room protocols.
- Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults for electrode equipment and systems.
- Utilize an equipment management system (EMS) to track assigned tasks and complete reports.
- Identify parts and material for repairs and consumable stock.
- Assist in planning and implementing mechanical equipment maintenance.
- Maintenance execution to complete all Breakdown Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrate problem solving methodology.
- Initiate continuous improvement activities.
- Follow work procedures and comply with safety standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Conduct all activities and interactions in a professional manner.
- Work as a team with technicians, supervisors, engineers, and OEM’s.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience related to maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Industrial Mechanic Millwright trade certificate (433A).
- A valid G Driver's License, with a clean abstract.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Willing and able to work plant shutdowns, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Willing and able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.
- Willing and able to work 12 hours shifts on a continental rotation.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with maintenance of Mixing, Coating, Roll Press, or Notching and Drying equipment.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability required.
- Experience hoisting, rigging, moving and setting equipment of various sizes.
- Basic machining skills utilizing a mill and lathe an asset.
- Welding skills including brazing, arc, mig and tig an asset.
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and drawings.
- Be self-motivated and demonstrate skill, initiative and judgment to make decisions and communicate these decisions with departmental supervisor for approval.
- Strong computer skills that include email, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Verification of any certification is required.
