About This Position


Medical Assistant

Full-Time | Monday-Friday 8am-4pm | $18.50-$20.00/hour | Every other Friday is a ½ day in the afternoon at the Valparaiso location.
Location:
LaPorte, IN 46350 & Valparaiso IN, 46383 (Every other Friday you will go from Laporte to Valparaiso for a half day in the afternoon).

The Opportunity
As a key member of the care team, you’ll support healthcare professionals in delivering quality health services while ensuring smooth daily operations. This role blends hands-on patient care, administrative coordination, and clinical preparation — making you an essential part of the patient experience from check-in through treatment and follow-up.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Patient Support
  • Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families
  • Assist in transferring patients pre- and post-procedures
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Complete annual mandatory training by assigned due dates
Clinical Support
  • Obtain and record medical histories, vitals, test results, and other patient information
  • Prepare treatment rooms and assist practitioners during medical procedures
  • Prepare, order, and administer medications under physician supervision
  • Prepare equipment and examination rooms; clean instruments
Operations & Administrative Coordination
  • Receive and direct phone calls
  • Schedule appointments and check in patients
  • Obtain and update necessary patient information and ensure completion of forms and consents
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and stock exam rooms appropriately
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Basic understanding of clerical systems and recordkeeping
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and confidentiality requirements
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
