The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are properly received, stored, and distributed. This role ensures the accuracy of inventory records and plays a key part in maintaining the efficiency of the warehouse or storage facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and verify shipments of incoming goods, materials, or products.

Record and document any damage or discrepancies and notify relevant departments.

Prepare and pack outgoing shipments accurately, ensuring proper documentation and labels.

Organize and store products in the correct location within the warehouse or storage area.

Maintain inventory records, track stock levels, and update databases as necessary.

Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment and safety protocols.

Communicate effectively with internal departments.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all shipping and receiving activities.

Perform regular stock checks and assist with inventory audits.

Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.

Assist in managing the return and disposal of damaged or unwanted inventory.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks and power tools.

Knowledge and understanding of shipping process and shipping company procedures.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organization.

Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Basic computer skills (ERP, Microsoft Office).

Knowledge of shipping software, logistics, and distribution processes is a plus.

Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly; ability to safely climb ladders and ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to operate hand or powered equipment used to move material and equipment.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.

Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.

Forklift certification.

This position will be located at a facility that requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen or green card holder.
