The Role

The Credit Analyst is key to our credit teams evaluation of financial risks and adherence to sound credit practices. You will perform well-informed credit assessments through detailed analysis and close review of both the Sponsor and Borrowers current and past financial profile. This role will work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment to document consistent packages for further internal Underwriting review, including that of our companys Credit Committee.

The Work

    Perform detailed credit analysis, evaluating the financial profiles of Sponsors and borrowing entities. Consult with both internal and external sources regarding Sponsor/Borrower applications. Provide consistent and accurate updates to both peers and your supervisor. Monitor and analyze market trends, economic conditions, and industry-specific factors. Recommend and implement best practices as part of OUR dedication to creating an industry-leading customer experience. Work efficiently under minimum supervision. Pay close attention to detail and consistency in analysis and findings presentation format. Advise and/or review peer work product as a quality control.

Your Skills and Experience

    Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field 2+ years of relevant experience with credit analysis in a real estate or financial services business Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data Strong written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with industry-standard credit scoring models and underwriting processes Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel or other spreadsheets

The Pay

Salary range is $80,000-$115,000 per year.

The Work Environment

    This role works on-site from Ascent's Encino office, Monday - Thursday (Fridays are work-from-home). Full-time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime. Some nights and weekends required.
