About the Role: The Sr. Quality Engineer will drive quality and compliance initiatives across Aviat’s global business operations and have a successful and measurable impact on customer satisfaction, quality, costs and productivity. The Sr. Quality Engineer will be actively engaged in all critical processes, forward-looking in his/her thinking, and possess the technical knowledge of quality, project management, training and organizational skills to mobilize the various functions within the Company to achieve Quality and Compliance goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and improve quality assurance processes and systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Oversee product inspections, testing procedures, and audits to ensure compliance.
- Manage and maintain all global ISO certifications (9001, 14001, 27001, 45001)
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Lead risk assessments and failure mode analysis to mitigate potential defects.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Mentor other Aviat employees and contribute to a culture of quality excellence.
- Utilize statistical methods and data analysis to drive continuous improvement.
- Report on quality metrics, including MTBF and recommend enhancements for processes and products.
- Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques.
- Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or product development.
- Expertise in quality methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and ISO standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in quality tools, statistical analysis, and reporting software.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Certification in CQE, Six Sigma, or related quality management programs is a plus.
- Knowledge in lean principles/methodologies preferred
- Demonstrated ability to be organized, flexible and easily adapt in a changing and fast-paced working environment
- Ability to develop, foster and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people within the organization
- Proven ability to work well in high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines and take accountability for delivering on commitments
- Advanced ability to make fact-based decisions with a sense of calculated risk-taking
- Approaches problems strategically to provide alternate course of action and offer recommendations for problem resolution
- Data-driven, with demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems with strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
