We are looking to hire a Shift Supervisor – Physical Security to join our team in Houston,TX. This position reports to the Project Manager.

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing all security operations during the assigned shift. This role ensures strict compliance with post orders, client directives, access control requirements, and company policies while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and operational readiness.

The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

  • Directly supervise, mentor, and provide on-the-job guidance to assigned security officers during the shift
  • Conduct post inspections and officer check-ins to ensure compliance with post orders, appearance standards, and performance expectations
  • Identify and address performance deficiencies in real time, escalating to the Project Manager as appropriate
  • Deliver or coordinate site-specific onboarding and training for new officers assigned to the post
  • Ensure all assigned personnel maintain required certifications, licenses, and qualifications
  • Conduct and document regular post and equipment inspections to ensure operational readiness
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for officer questions, concerns, and incidents during the shift
  • Review and approve security incident reports submitted by officers for accuracy, completeness, and proper detail before submission
  • Maintain and submit shift activity logs, officer attendance records, and any deviation or exception reports
  • Document any post order deviations, equipment malfunctions, or facility issues and communicate them to the Project Manager
  • Track and report recurring security concerns or trends to management for review and corrective action
  • Ensure all post documentation, logs, and records are properly maintained and accessible for review
  • Complete and maintain all required pre-assignment, client, State, clearance, and sustainment training requirements
  • Ensure adherence to standards of officer competency, conduct, appearance, and integrity, including compliance with Company and Client Codes of Conduct and Uniform Policies.
  • Access control and physical security principles
  • Operation of intrusion alarms, fire detection equipment, video surveillance equipment, and entry and egress access control systems
  • Accurate communication of security information and procedures
  • Roving foot patrols of interior and exterior building areas
  • Identification badge process production
  • Production of complete and detailed security incident and daily operating reports
  • Monitoring and responding to intrusion detection systems
  • Complete and receive shift turnover briefings to ensure continuity of operations between incoming and outgoing personnel
  • Responding, as necessary, to support other life safety duties as identified in post orders and standard operating procedures
  • Any other activity as requested by Project Manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the customer mission, PGI's core values, and ethos.
  • At least 2 years of security, military, or law enforcement management experience, including a strong knowledge of personnel management and compliance.
  • Experience managing shifts of personnel, including screening, hiring, training, scheduling, and reporting activities.
  • Ability to complete state Security Officer certification, including the DPS online application process, fingerprints, and background investigation
  • Must have reliable transportation during all seasons
  • Must fluently speak, read, comprehend, and write in English
  • Must have High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and periodic random drug screening
  • U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Texas Non-Commissioned Security Officer License
  • Security, military, or law enforcement experience
  • Demonstrated history of safe and successful security operations experience in highly secure facilities

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires lifting, standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday, with some workdays being up to 12 hours.
