About This Position
The Maintenance III Technician is responsible for performing and overseeing all facility and equipment maintenance, repairs, installations, and removals. This role is the senior-level maintenance position at the site and ensures all equipment is safe, functional, and operating at maximum efficiency. The Maintenance III contributes directly to safe operations, production uptime, and regulatory compliance by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and completing complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tasks. This position requires expert technical skills, strong problem-solving ability, and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay Rate: $30.00 an hour- 90 day - 50 - Cent progression

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance III is responsible for all facility and equipment maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and system upgrades.
Equipment Maintenance & RepairPerform all preventive maintenance and repairs on facility and production equipment, including (but not limited to):
- SMETCO machinery and Palmatic equipment
- Forklifts and yard trucks
- Compressors, pneumatic, and vacuum systems
- Hydraulic systems – repair and troubleshooting
- Pneumatic systems – repair and troubleshooting
- Electrical systems: 24V DC, 120V AC, 240V AC, and 480V AC 3-phase wiring, troubleshooting, and repair
- PLC / IFM controls and 24V wiring schematics reading
- Photo sensor logic installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- HVAC (heating and air conditioning)
- Lighting and facility infrastructure
- Production tools: Sawzall, air nail guns, screw guns, electric motors – repair and troubleshooting
Additional responsibilities include:
- Install, troubleshoot, and remove equipment as needed
- Welding – arc and/or MIG welding and metal fabrication
- Read and interpret PLC, 24V wiring, and electrical schematics
- Maintain all logs related to machinery, equipment, forklifts, and required inspections
- Process preventive maintenance (PM) work orders accurately and on time using computer-based maintenance systems
- Ensure that all forklift drivers are certified and that certifications remain current
- Ensure all forklift maintenance logs and machine logs are accurate and up to date
- Enforce compliance with all safety policies, environmental regulations, and company procedures
- Maintain accurate inventory controls for spare parts and critical components
- Source parts and services from vendors; obtain quotes and coordinate procurement as needed
- Support facility upkeep, building maintenance, and grounds maintenance as required
- Provide technical guidance and assist with training less experienced maintenance personnel
- Communicate clearly and professionally with plant management, operations teams, and vendors – both verbally and in writing
- 4+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
- Welding certifications (arc and/or MIG) required
- Electrical certifications or licenses required
- Valid driver’s license
- Associate degree in a technical field or trade school certification preferred
- PLC / IFM controls programming and troubleshooting
- 24V DC wiring and schematic reading
- 120V AC, 240V AC, and 480V AC 3-phase wiring, troubleshooting, and repair
- Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical and PLC wiring schematics
- Photo sensor logic: installation, wiring, and troubleshooting
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems repair and troubleshooting
- MIG and/or arc welding; metal fabrication skills
- Sawzall and air nail gun repair and troubleshooting
- Computer proficiency: ability to process PMs, manage inventory, communicate via email, and use maintenance software
- Strong mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
- Sourcing parts and services; vendor communication and procurement

- Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 75 lbs
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the shift
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled areas (heat/cold)
- Ability to work at heights, use ladders, and operate tools and equipment safely
- Industrial/warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures
- PPE required in all designated areas
- May require occasional overtime or on-call support based on facility needs
