About This Position
Position Summary
The Laborer supports field operations by performing physical work necessary to complete erosion control, site development, and environmental service projects.
This position ensures installations are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications under the direction of the Superintendent.
Laborers are critical contributors to jobsite productivity and safety.
Primary Responsibilities: Field Installation & Production Support
Assist with the installation of:
● Silt fence
● Erosion control blankets
● Wattles and check dams
● Sediment barriers
● Stormwater protection systems
Follow directions provided by the Superintendent.
Jobsite Preparation & Cleanup
● Prepare jobsite for installation
● Stage materials and tools
● Remove debris and waste, clean and organize work areas
● Support demobilization at project completion
Tool & Equipment Handling
● Safely operate hand tools and small equipment
● Load and unload materials
● Maintain and clean tools, report damaged tools immediately
Safety Compliance - non-negotiable
● Follow all OSHA and company safety policies
● Wear required PPE
● Participate in daily safety meetings
● Identify and report unsafe conditions
Required Skills & Competencies
● Strong work ethic
● Ability to follow instructions
● Physical stamina
● Attention to detail
● Dependability
● Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Technical Skills:
● Basic hand tool usage
● Ability to lift 50+ lbs
● Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods
Minimum Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
● Valid driver’s license (preferred)
● Ability to pass drug screening (if required)
● Ability to work in physically demanding conditions
Preferred:
● Construction or erosion control experience
● OSHA 10 certification
