Registered Nurse (RN ST) at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

Observes patients from special care units requiring direct nurse attention. Operates recorders and physiological monitoring and therapeutic equipment as necessary. Assists in special procedures as needed. Cleans and wraps supplies for sterilization as needed. Contributes to the educational and competency processes of the Radiology Department. Adheres to the standards of nursing care and the policies and procedures of the department and medical center. Assists in prepping patients, moving patients, and setting up for procedures. Administers medication, IV injections, sedation, and takes vital signs as needed. Assist in patient/family education. Promotes and maintains positive relationships with Radiology staff, Radiologist, supervisors and all contractors. Meets physiological and psychosocial patient needs. Assists in procedure records, consent forms, and maintains log books for departmental use. Assists administration in planning and developing policies and procedures regarding nursing care of patients in the department of Radiology. Adapts care to the patient's level of development/age-specific needs.
