SUMMARY
The Director, Growth & Engagement Strategy is responsible for leading Portico Benefit Services’ growth, go-to-market, and audience engagement strategies in support of enterprise priorities and organizational objectives. This position shapes how Portico generates awareness, builds interest, advances discovery, and drives audience movement toward conversion across business and member audiences.
This role provides leadership for integrated growth planning, campaign strategy, thought-leadership activation, and market-facing engagement, ensuring that awareness- and demand-building efforts are aligned with audience needs, organizational objectives, and Portico’s mission and values.
This position must understand and comply with all of Portico’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance standards (e.g., internal controls, regulatory compliance, policy compliance, evidence retention) and promote these standards in a manner that is required of all managers.
This position is also responsible for their direct reports' understanding and complying with Portico’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
With strategic direction from the VP, Brand & Customer Engagement, this person:
- Leads growth and engagement strategy across Portico’s priority audiences with a focus on awareness, discovery, consideration, and conversion-oriented business goals.
- Develops and oversees integrated go-to-market, campaign, and engagement strategies that strengthen audience awareness, interest, consideration, and action.
- Provides strategic leadership for awareness, discovery, and pre-conversion engagement strategies across employer, employee, member, and church audiences.
- Partners with enterprise leaders, business development partners, and internal stakeholders to translate business priorities into coordinated engagement strategies.
- Guides communications and campaign direction that support audience awareness, discovery, activation, and conversion readiness.
- Identifies opportunities to improve audience movement, engagement, and value realization across channels and touchpoints.
- Partners with Brand & Market Strategy, Digital Channels, and Marketing Operations leaders to ensure growth and engagement strategies are effectively activated across campaigns, channels, and pre-conversion audience journeys.
- Directs team members to ensure clear priorities, strong collaboration, and cohesive execution.
- Ensures communications are reviewed by legal counsel and other required reviewers, as appropriate.
- Oversees the ongoing review and refinement of growth strategies, campaign performance, and audience communications to ensure continued alignment, clarity, effectiveness, and conversion impact over time.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field
- MBA preferred
EXPERIENCE (length in years and type)
- 7-10 years’ experience in marketing, communications, growth, customer engagement, or related strategy environments.
- Management of a marketing function with progressive responsibility
- Experience leading go-to-market strategy, demand generation, campaign strategy, audience acquisition, or pre-conversion engagement across multiple channels.
- Experience in financial, health care or other employee benefits fields desired
- Agency experience in integrated campaigns, growth strategy, or customer engagement desired.

STARTING PAY RANGE: $48,000 - $50,000.00 Annualized
