Position Summary

The Sales & Operations Manager is responsible for aligning commercial growth initiatives with operational execution to ensure profitable revenue growth while maintaining exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. Serving as the critical bridge between sales, operations, and leadership teams, this role drives pipeline development, manages sales performance, improves internal processes, and ensures operational capacity aligns with customer demand. As a commercially oriented player/coach, the Sales & Operations Manager combines sales leadership, operational awareness, and strong business acumen to support and execute the company’s commercial strategy while ensuring forecasting, internal processes, and operational capabilities enable sustainable market expansion. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of sales processes, operational workflows, financial performance metrics, and customer relationship management within a project-based manufacturing or construction-related environment.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Sales Leadership

  • Execute a structured sales process that drives customer satisfaction, increased market penetration, and revenue growth.
  • Expand channels to market including independent sales representatives, distributors, OEM partners, and strategic direct relationships.
  • Identify and develop opportunities in new or underserved markets for sound control and acoustical solutions.
  • Support strategic account development by managing customer relationships, coordinating account strategies, and tracking activity across key accounts.
  • Participate in pricing strategy, proposal development, and commercial negotiations aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customers’ needs to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Represent the company through presentations, product training sessions, webinars, and industry events.

Sales Operations & Performance Management

  • Forecast pipeline development, quoting activity, win rates, customer engagement, and revenue performance.
  • Improve sales processes including CRM utilization, quoting workflows, forecasting accuracy, and reporting systems.
  • Develop structured outreach programs and customer engagement strategies to drive new business opportunities.

Operations Alignment & Execution

  • Act as the primary liaison between sales and operations to ensure alignment between demand generation and production capacity.
  • Collaborate with production, supply chain, and planning teams to maintain realistic lead times and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitor order status, special materials, and project timelines to identify potential delays or operational risks.
  • Support initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
  • Assist with planning initiatives that support monthly shipment targets, revenue forecasts, and operational objectives.

Business Performance & P&L Contribution

  • Support leadership in executing strategies designed to grow revenue, improve margins, and expand market share.
  • Monitor and report on key business performance metrics including quote activity, order intake, revenue performance, margin performance, and pipeline coverage.
  • Contribute to the development of sales forecasts and operational planning activities.
  • Assist in the development and tracking of KPIs used to measure commercial and operational success.
  • Participate in strategic planning discussions related to market expansion, channel development, and operational capacity.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with operations, finance, marketing, and product teams to ensure commercial commitments align with operational capabilities.
  • Actively participate in product discussions from opportunity development through commercialization.
  • Facilitate communication across departments to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and executed.

Talent Leadership & Team Development

  • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture across sales and operations teams.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability structures around key sales and operational metrics.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives that strengthen the commercial organization.
  • Mentor team members on customer engagement, sales techniques, and operational awareness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in sales, sales operations, or commercial leadership roles.
  • Experience in project-based manufacturing, construction products, or industrial markets strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing sales pipelines, revenue performance, and customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes including production scheduling, order management, and forecasting.
  • Experience working with distribution channels, rep networks, or specification-driven sales environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25–30%.
