What you will be doing:

We are in search of an Executive Principal, Managed Services IT Delivery to work 5-days on-site at one of our (3) major manufacturing facilities located in either Montgomery, AL, West Point, GA, or Savannah, GA.

As the on-site the senior executive, you will be responsible for all enterprise-wide IT service delivery executed through Managed Service Providers (MSPs). This role owns the strategy, governance, performance, and evolution of all outsourced IT delivery models, ensuring services are reliable, secure, cost effective, and aligned to business outcomes. Operating as the executive authority over MSP delivery, this position translates contracts and service models into measurable results, drives modernization and continuous improvement, and ensures that MSPs operate as true strategic partners rather than staff augmentation or ticket
factories. The selected candidate will be the single point of executive ownership for the following:

Executive Accountability:
  • End to end MSP service outcomes across infrastructure, workplace, cloud, network, and platform services
  • Enterprise service reliability, availability, and operational risk within outsourced delivery models
  • MSP commercial performance, contractual compliance, and value realization
  • Continuous improvement, automation, and service maturity across all managed services
Enterprise MSP Delivery Ownership
  • Own and govern all IT services delivered by MSPs, ensuring consistent performance across service towers and affiliates.
  • Ensure 24x7x365 operational reliability, resiliency, and compliance with SLAs, SLOs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the executive escalation authority for major incidents, systemic failures, and cross vendor delivery breakdowns.
  • Define and enforce clear accountability models between internal teams and MSPs, eliminating ambiguity and delivery gaps.
Vendor Strategy & Governance
  • Establish and lead the enterprise MSP governance framework, including executive steering committees, QBRs, and performance reviews.
  • Hold MSPs accountable for outcomes, not effort, including service quality, cost efficiency, innovation, and productivity improvements.
  • Oversee commercial performance, including service credits, penalties, benchmarking, and scope evolution.
  • Partner with Procurement and Legal on sourcing strategy, RFPs, renewals, and contract negotiations.
Service Management & Operational Excellence
  • Set enterprise standards for IT Service Management (ITSM), incident, problem, change, and escalation management.
  • Drive reduction of chronic incidents through root cause elimination, trend analysis, and systemic fixes.
  • Champion SRE inspired practices, automation, observability, and proactive operations across MSP delivery models.
  • Ensure service reporting is accurate, transparent, and meaningful to executive and business stakeholders.
Transformation & Modernization Leadership
  • Translate enterprise IT and business strategy into clear MSP transformation roadmaps, including cloud adoption, platform modernization, and tooling consolidation.
  • Lead large scale MSP transitions, onboarding, rebids, and scope transformations with minimal business disruption.
  • Ensure MSP delivery models evolve to support growth, security posture, compliance, and emerging technologies.
  • Act as a trusted executive advisor on outsourcing risk, service maturity, and operating model design.
Executive Leadership & Influence
  • Lead and mentor internal service delivery, ITSM, and vendor management leaders.
  • Build strong, professional executive relationships with MSP leadership while maintaining firm governance and accountability.
  • Communicate service health, risks, and improvement initiatives clearly to CIO, C suite, and business leadership.
What we require from you:
  • Bachelor degree or higher 15+ years of senior IT leadership experience, with significant executive ownership of MSP or outsourced IT delivery.
  • Proven success governing large scale, multi tower, multi-vendor managed services environments.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure operations, cloud services, service management, and vendor governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity, scale, and organizational change.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence vendors, peers, and senior leadership.
  • ITIL v4 certification or equivalent highly preferred
