This role is a chance to lead a solid team, improve shop operations, and make a real impact on the reliability of our fleet.The Shop Foreman supervises shop employees to obtain top quality workmanship and efficiency in a repair and service shop environment. They will plan and assign work, enforce policies and procedures and recommend improvements in repair and service methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Will also perform repairs and maintenance of all equipment using own tools, as needed. May be required to travel to other DKB facilities at times. Schedule is 6:00am -3:30pm Mon - Fri (OT available)Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, coach and train technicians, while promoting a positive team environment. Plan and assign daily repair work in an organized manner, enhancing workflow and efficiency Collaborate with technicians to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing efficiency and job satisfaction. Ensure meticulous record-keeping, and document control processes are maintained Adhere to, and consistent implementation of company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards Apply mechanical knowledge to various engine and chassis repairs, tank and pumping systems. Possess extensive understanding of OSHA & DOT regulations Triage driver repair calls, schedule internal repairs, and arrange road calls or tows when necessary Maintain an organized parts inventory and update Fleetio with parts and fleet repair information Ensure a safe, hazard-free, clean and organized shop and yard Implement surface-level disciplinary actions as necessary, in consultation with the service manager, to maintain a productive and respectful work environment Promote proper safety and incident reporting, conduct investigation and implement corrective action working with management and/or Safety for best process Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on equipment as needed Perform miscellaneous duties assigned by management, based on requirements of each location Education and Skills Requirements: Minimum of five years of related experience, specifically as Foreman or Shop Supervisor Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred but not mandatory at this time) Advanced mechanical skills and complete knowledge of diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting with the understanding of schematics and diagrams Solid teamwork, communications, and interpersonal skills Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email) Great attention to detail and solid organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements and responsibilities:Able to bend, stand, walk, sit Able to lift 100 lbs. occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer including keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment Occassional driving to other locations may be needed
Supervisory Responsibility To be outlined by Fleet Manager during training Work Environment
May be exposed to varied temperatures at times (heat/cold). May be subjected to loud noises, hazardous materials/chemicals, and running machinery.
