Your Role
As the Director of Community Day Services, you will oversee daily operations across CDS programs, ensuring services are person-centered, goal-driven, and rooted in dignity and independence. Leading a team of supervisors, the role involves shaping staff development, refining program goals, and aligning services with individual needs. This position plays a key role in expanding community integration and employment opportunities, while monitoring quality, supporting intake decisions, and managing budgets. Compliance with regulatory standards and a commitment to continuous improvement are central to the work.

Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership, supervision, training, and support to all CDS Supervisors to ensure person-centered services are provided to all consumers attending CDS.
  • Evaluates CDS Supervisors, creates development plans, and provides regular feedback to ensure continued growth and skill development for program success.
  • Ensures that all staff are adequately trained and perform their duties in a manner that supports consumers to be as independent as possible, and free from abuse, neglect, and unnecessary restrictions of their rights.
  • Works with program supervisors to ensure that CDS programs create opportunities for community integration and connections are based on consumer wants and needs and provide activities that increase opportunities for exposure, experience, and education.
  • Develops program goals and desired outcomes with CDS Supervisors to ensure programs meet the needs of consumers and focus on the agency mission.
  • Monitors program data and creates improvement plans as needed to ensure that programs continue to increase opportunities and satisfaction for all consumers.
  • Works closely with Employment Services to develop employment first opportunities and programs for consumers interested in competitive community employment.
  • Remains knowledgeable and in compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards and trends within the field of developmental disabilities.
  • Works closely with the Program Administrator to manage program expenses, salaries, and overtime to ensure adherence to the program budget.
  • Works closely with the Intake Coordinator to complete screenings for incoming consumers and determine program placement based on consumer wants and needs.
  • Creates opportunities for CDS growth by developing programs that meet the needs of all consumers looking for CDS placement.
  • Participates in professional training designed to enhance job skills and facilitate program development.
  • Works cooperatively with all staff and outside providers to ensure high quality consumer services.
  • Observes safe job practices and maintains a clean and safe working environment.
  • Serves on various agency committees as needed.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Health or Human Services or related field required
  • At least two years of experience working with adults and/or children with Intellectual Disabilities
  • At least two years of management or supervisory experience required.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of insurance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Current certifications in the following: DSP, CPR/First Aid and CPI required
