About the Role

The Senior Manager of EDI provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capabilities. This role owns the EDI roadmap, governance, and performance across the enterprise, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant data exchange with trading partners. The Senior Manager acts as a key liaison between IT, business leaders, and external partners, translating business strategy into reliable integration solutions that support growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

This role requires deep EDI expertise, strong people leadership, and the ability to influence across functions while driving continuous improvement and modernization of EDI platforms and processes.

This role will work 3 days a week in our Santa Clarita Offices.

What You will Do:

  • Own the enterprise EDI strategy, team and roadmap, aligning EDI capabilities with business objectives, growth initiatives, and digital transformation efforts.
  • Owns the EDI business process and partners with key stakeholder including but not limited to: Customer, Customer Service, Accounting, and Warehouse
  • Owns projects that EDI touches, including but not limited to: New customer onboarding, chargebacks, efficiency opportunities, etc.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the EDI team, fostering process and technical excellence, accountability, and career growth.
  • Partner closely with IT, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and business leadership to translate operational needs into EDI solutions.
  • Serve as the primary EDI subject-matter expert for senior leadership, providing insight, recommendations, and risk assessments.
  • Own strategic relationships with key trading partners and EDI vendors, ensuring compliance with requirements and service-level expectations.
  • Lead onboarding of new trading partners and major EDI initiatives, including complex or high-volume integrations.
  • Define and track EDI KPIs (transaction success rates, error resolution time, partner onboarding timelines, system availability).
  • Use data and analytics to drive process improvements and demonstrate EDI’s business value.
  • Champion automation and process optimization to reduce manual effort and improve scalability.

Required Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Demonstrated success leading and developing EDI or integration teams in a complex, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to balance long-term vision and day-to-day operational execution.
  • Deep knowledge of EDI standards, platforms, and tools (e.g., SPS, GXS, Sterling Gentran, MS BizTalk or similar).
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and end-to-end business process flows.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain, order management, procurement, and related business processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions and recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required

Experience

  • 7+ years of EDI experience required
  • 3+ years’ experience managing and leading a team of EDI professionals

Preferred Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Experience with D365 F&SCM
  • Experience with ticketing software, for example Azure DevOps/Jira
  • Experience with SPS Commerce
  • Experience managing customer service functions

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field preferred

Experience:

  • Experience with EDI documents in the retail industry strongly preferred
  • Experience with SPS/Data Masons strongly preferred

Competitive Compensation:

  • The expected base salary range for this position is $155,000 to $165,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including geographic location, experience, skills, and education.
  • Discretionary Bonus Plan: This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
