Supervisor of Maintenance Details

Essential Job Duties:

  • Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates performance, which includes maintenance, construction,
  • Conducts determination of need and cost benefit studies for proposed new programs, equipment and services.
  • Monitors and ensures institutional compliance with federal, state, and local safety, environmental protection and fire protection regulations and standards, as well as, accreditation requirements.
  • Recommend improvements in the institution's facilities, including construction or renovation of structures, purchases of equipment based on inspections, consideration of institutional goals and needs, and other relevant institutional requirements.
  • Responsible for identifying and initiating necessary actions to resolve structural, chemical, electrical, safety, and mechanical engineering problems.
  • Responsible for developing and administering the institution's energy management program.
  • Responsible for planning, reviewing layouts, ensuring code compliance and coordinating contracts for major construction projects.
  • Administers and directs programs to maintain buildings and equipment, as well as, procure or generate all utilities and their distribution systems.
  • Interviews contractors to receive and review bids, including blueprint analysis of proposed changes, submits and recommends bids to administration on standard policies such as economy and feasibility of bid.
  • Provides liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and material and equipment suppliers.
  • Establishes and administers a preventative maintenance program.
  • Establishes and administers a electrical safety testing and bio-medical equipment performance verification program.
  • Analyzes costs and work schedules, sets priorities, expedites operation and repairs.
  • Performs staff appraisals within the prescribed timeframe outlined in performance appraisals and competency assessment policies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper housekeeping techniques.
  • Utilizes proper waste disposal procedures.
  • Utilizes and ensures proper safety and infection control procedures are followed by housekeeping personnel.
  • Performs administrative duties for housekeeping and laundry.
  • the preparation of the operating and capital budgets for housekeeping and laundry.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer a B.S. Degree in Plant Maintenance, Bio-Med Technology or related areas.
  • Individual should possess no less than four (4) years progressive experience in supervision and maintenance, in installation and maintenance of equipment, maintenance of utilities and building.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, BMS, and plumbing.
  • Must have current driver's license, and be capable of being insured.
