Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Product Engineer (Data Team) in Italy.
This is an exciting opportunity for a backend-focused engineer passionate about building scalable, high-performance data infrastructure in the Web3 ecosystem. In this role, you will work on mission-critical blockchain data systems, helping developers and enterprises access reliable, low-latency infrastructure at scale. You’ll own projects end to end — from understanding user challenges to designing, shipping, and optimizing production-grade systems. The environment is highly collaborative, fast-moving, and deeply technical, offering exposure to distributed systems, performance engineering, and AI-first development workflows. You will contribute to products powering decentralized applications across industries such as DeFi, gaming, analytics, and NFTs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strong engineering fundamentals with product thinking and operational ownership.
- Own the technical direction, development, rollout, and operational quality of blockchain data infrastructure features from concept to production deployment.
- Design, build, and optimize backend and distributed systems using Go, Rust, or comparable technologies while ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Improve large-scale blockchain data workflows including indexing, caching, validation, benchmarking, observability, and repair mechanisms.
- Translate user and platform requirements into detailed technical specifications, implementation plans, user stories, and measurable delivery milestones.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, infrastructure, support, and customer-facing teams to prioritize improvements and ensure strong user outcomes.
- Define and monitor key system metrics such as latency, throughput, accuracy, coverage, reliability, freshness, and operational efficiency.
- Build internal tooling, dashboards, alerts, benchmarks, and operational runbooks that improve system visibility and maintenance.
- Conduct technical reviews and research focused on correctness, maintainability, scalability, and competitive improvements across blockchain data products.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend systems, distributed infrastructure, data platforms, or related technical environments.
- Strong production-level expertise with Go, Rust, or similar systems programming languages.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts including APIs, concurrency, storage systems, caching, queues, reliability, and failure handling.
- Hands-on experience with databases and SQL, including schema design, query optimization, consistency management, and data quality practices.
- Experience owning projects end to end, including requirements gathering, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and iteration.
- Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure, containers, CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development workflows, coding assistants, or agentic engineering tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear technical documentation, proposals, runbooks, and engineering updates.
- Experience with blockchain infrastructure, RPC APIs, indexing systems, or high-volume data pipelines is considered a strong advantage.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary paid in USD
- Stock options and long-term growth opportunities
- Flexible work schedule with fully remote collaboration
- Opportunity to work with cutting-edge Web3 and blockchain technologies
- Flat organizational structure with high ownership and autonomy
- Exposure to fast-growing global infrastructure products and markets
- Collaborative multinational team environment
- Career growth opportunities in distributed systems and blockchain engineering
- Modern development tools and AI-first engineering workflows
