Medical Laboratory Technician at Kirby Medical Center – Monticello, Illinois

Location: Monticello, Illinois

Shift: Day shift

Schedule: FT 40 hours 9am-5:30 pm with rotating weekend coverage.

Job Summary: Performs patient specimen analysis for diagnostic purposes. Enters all results into the computer system. Brings panic value test results to the attention of the licensed healthcare worker responsible for the patient as required by policy. Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing various equipment and work areas in the laboratory. Maintains laboratory inventory. Processes specimens in hematology, chemistry and the blood bank, urinalysis, bacteriology.

Regulatory Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Associates Degree in Science.
• Certification/Licensure as a Medical Technician in Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Blood Bank.
