This position has typical work hours Monday – Friday from 7:30AM – 5:00PM, evenings as needed
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Outside Technician/Mechanic to join our team. An Outside Technician II is responsible for mechanical repairs on heavy-duty diesel commercial trucks. Employees in this position will primarily be working outdoors and must be focused on both safety and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Perform mechanical repairs on heavy-duty diesel commercial trucks
- Maintain updated reports as needed on fleet accounts.
- Communicate safety concerns, company vehicle issues and customer problems with service manager or store manager immediately.
- Responsible for various types of mechanical repairs
- Understand customer base and profiles
- Responsible for daily safety pre-trip inspections on service truck
- Keep service truck and service area clean to maintain a safe work environment
- Responsible for following all safety regulations, processes and procedures required by Parrish Tire Company, TIA, OSHA and NCDOL
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a mobile diesel mechanic
- Clean driving record
- Valid NC driver’s license
- Must become (TIA) Certified if not already

Required Physical Abilities:
Physical requirements of this position may require a range of activities. These can include, but are not limited to:
- Lifting and carrying – the ability to lift and transport objects of specified weights, which may vary by job. For example, a job may require lifting up 50-150lbs regularly.
- Standing and walking – this position will require standing and walking for periods of time
- Bending and stooping – bending, stooping, or crouching are requiring to effectively preform essential duties of this position.
- Reaching and pushing/pulling – the ability to reach for items, push carts, or pull equipment will be necessary for daily activities.
- Sitting – there will be times this position will be needed to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- This position will also be required to operate certain machinery and other equipment safely.
Work Environment:
This position will require employees to work in certain weather conditions, such as heat, cold, as well as potentially confined spaces.
