Part-Time School Cleaner - Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (When School Is in Session) at Providence Christian Preparatory School – Orlando, Florida

Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:

Classroom and Hallway Cleaning

Sweep, vacuum, and/or mop classroom floors

Wipe down desks, tables, and high-touch surfaces

Clean whiteboards/chalkboards and trays

Dust furniture, shelves, and windowsills

Spot clean walls, doors, and glass surfaces

Arrange desks and classroom furniture as needed

Restroom Cleaning & Sanitation

Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, and counters

Refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and toilet paper

Sweep and mop restroom floors with disinfectant

Clean mirrors and fixtures

Remove and replace trash liners

Monitor and report maintenance or plumbing issues

Trash & Waste Removal

Empty classroom and restroom trash receptacles

Replace liners as needed

Transport trash to designated disposal areas

Ensure waste is properly sorted and disposed of according to school guidelines

Additional Duties

Report safety hazards, damage, or maintenance concerns

Follow established cleaning schedules and checklists

Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies

Adhere to school safety and sanitation policies

Assist with light seasonal or periodic deep cleaning tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Previous cleaning or custodial experience preferred (not required)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong attention to detail

Reliable and punctual

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures

Must be able to pass required background checks

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching

Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds

Ability to push/pull cleaning carts and equipment

Tolerance for exposure to cleaning chemicals and dust

Work Environment

School setting (classrooms, hallways, restrooms)

Evening hours during active school session days only

May require occasional schedule adjustments for school events or closures

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly wage (based on experience)

Consistent weekday schedule

Essential Requirements:
o Level II background screening clearance
