Summary:
Manages the day-to-day operation of all major systems that keep the facility operating 7 days / 24 hours a day.Schedules Assigned Technicians work on a daily basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Schedules day to day operations and work assignments of zone and planned maintenance technicians.
• Develops and maintains on-call and weekend work schedules.
• Keeps Engineering Manager informed of significant activities, problems, and requests within area of responsibility.
• Coordinates major systems and zone system repairs between Contractors and Departments. • Performs fair and impartial evaluations of technicians.
• Issues purchase order requests to maintain any parts needed for repair.
• Recognizes emergency and routine requests and responds accordingly. Effectively responds to changing priorities in order to meet departmental and/or corporate goals.
• Required to spot check for proper documentation of work orders, time and parts used by all staff. (Engineering Manager will determine the number of spot checks needed per week).
• Manage technicians in the process of troubleshooting and performing repairs on pneumatic tube system, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing/boiler systems as assigned. Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license, able to operate forklifts, aerial lifts and vehicles as required. Insures that all staff maintains their appropriate hands-on training annually.
• Demonstrates comprehensive working knowledge of equipment and services relative to the overall hospital facilities and infrastructure operation.
• Comprehends manufacturer’s operational manuals and specifications necessary for equipment installation, maintenance and/or repair.
• Able to guide, direct and instruct technicians in the process of starting the Emergency Generators for testing and/or initiate island mode transfer during inclement weather conditions as directed.
• Schedules planned service interruptions with proper management of effected departments. Keeps user departments informed of any problems which may arise with equipment or services. • Efficiently operates the TMS system by opening, closing, adding new work orders and creating reports.
• Effectively communicates with affected staff, by reporting problems and/or delays with equipment maintenance and repair.
• AnMed receives its power from Duke Energy at 4160 volts. No AnMed technician is authorized to work on any energized panel greater than 480 Volts.
Qualifications:
HS diploma/GED; Master or Journeyman, or equivalent experience with minimum of 6 to 8 years' experience in general maintenance. Supervisory experience required is 5 to 6 years.
