1st Shift Material Handler at Winona Powder Coating Inc – Etna Green, Indiana

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate movement of materials throughout the production facility to support daily operations and quality objectives. This role supports production lines by delivering and removing materials, maintaining housekeeping standards, and ensuring compliance with Winona Powder Coating’s safety and quality policies. The Material Handler reports to the Production Supervisor and works closely with production, quality, and shipping/receiving teams.

Safety & Environmental

Operate fork trucks and material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Follow all safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Material Handling & Production Support

Transport raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to and from production lines.

Support production flow by staging materials and removing completed products as required.

Assist with production activities as needed, including hanging parts on racks or conveyors and offloading finished parts.

Support packaging and preparation of finished goods for shipment.

Communicate effectively with production and other departments to ensure smooth material flow.

Accurately handle and move materials to prevent damage or quality issues.

Quality

Follow Winona Powder Coating quality policies and procedures.

Support quality objectives by ensuring proper handling and storage of materials.

Use basic measuring devices (e.g., tape measure) as required.

General Responsibilities

Perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment.

Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in assigned areas.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet business needs.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years experience operating fork trucks.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read, write, understand English, and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Physical Requirements
• Ability to load and unload trucks using dock-level shipping bays as well as ground-level, drive-up truck loading areas, both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and handle long parts up to 23 feet in length.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, 70 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach repeatedly throughout the entire production shift.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variation, and industrial equipment
