About the role
The Electrical Foreman is responsible for leading an electrical crew on commercial construction sites. Their primary role is to ensure planning, laying out, installing, and wiring electrical components are completed as per project drawings, specifications, and in accordance with applicable electrical codes. This posting covers all three levels of the Electrical Foreman role — Level I, Level II, and Level III — each with progressively greater experience, crew responsibility, and project scope.

What you'll do
The following responsibilities apply to all levels of the Electrical Foreman role:
Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnelDelegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractorsRecruiting, hiring, training, managing, and mentoring employees and contractorsProviding adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needsEmphasizing safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, hardhats, and proceduresManaging project budgets and quality standards for all sitesResolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicablyOrdering and managing day-to-day materials and managing quoting of materials (Foreman II & III)Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers, and other officialsQualifications
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
The following requirements apply to all levels:
Journeyman or Master Electrical licenseCustomer-service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration to develop a positive working relationship Decision-making skills for selecting personnel and subcontractors for specific tasks and jobs to meet deadlines and budgets Initiative for generating business opportunities and being proactive in locating new clients Leadership skills for effectively delegating tasks to lower-level managers, subcontractors, and construction workersSpeaking skills for providing clear orders, explaining complex information to clients and construction workers, and discussing technical details with other building specialistsTechnical skills for interpreting construction methods and technologies along with contracts and technical drawings Time-management skills to meet deadlines and ensure construction phases are completed on timeWriting skills for writing budgets, proposals, and plans, along with documenting work progress for clients and others involvedProven experience as a Foreman on commercial construction sitesIn-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelinesPreferred Skills and AbilitiesIn addition to the requirements above, candidates are evaluated based on the level-specific criteria in the Level Overview table. Across all levels, the following is preferred:
Strong proficiency in software and tools (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, Bluebeam, Procore, Plangrid) and Microsoft Office Suite — required for Foreman III, preferred for Foreman IIWinning Behaviors and Competencies
