Cadence Inc in Sturgeon Bay, WI is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support our growing operations. This role serves as the key connection between Engineering, NPI, and Production—ensuring equipment runs efficiently, processes are production-ready, and new products transition smoothly into manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime
- Program and set up CNC mills, lathes, robots, and related machinery based on blueprints and 3D models
- Validate and test machine programs for accuracy and performance
- Partner closely with the NPI (New Product Introduction) team early in development to create manufacturing processes that are practical, efficient, and operator-friendly
- Lead the handoff of new processes from NPI to production, ensuring documentation, readiness, and operator training are complete
- Analyze manufacturing processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce cost
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure products meet quality standards
- Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance documentation
- Train and support production operators on equipment and process changes
- Collect and analyze production data to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with the NPI team early in development to align with production operator needs.
What You Bring
- Highschool degree or equivalent and technical or associate program encouraged.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (CNC, robotics, or automation preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Experience supporting NPI launches and production process development
- Ability to develop clear, operator-ready work instructions
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Experience with CNC programming and machine setup
- Working knowledge of quality systems and inspection methods
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills
