Job Overview

S&L Inc is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our Project Management team. This position offers a front-row seat to the construction process from pre-bid through closeout supporting Engineers, Estimators, and Project Managers on multiple heavy civil projects.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving problems, and can bring order to complex, moving parts. You will help ensure our projects remain organized, compliant, and on track financially and administratively. This is a primarily onsite role with approximately 70% office work and 30% field/site visits.

S&L Inc has been building Utah since the 1970s. As a multi-million-dollar heavy civil general contractor operating primarily throughout Salt Lake and Utah Counties, we deliver municipal, commercial, industrial, and environmental construction projects across the region.

From highway and underground utility work to parks, site development, and environmental restoration, our team handles diverse and technically demanding projects. Key Responsibilities

Your involvement begins well before boots hit the ground and continues through project closeout. Responsibilities include:

  • Attend bid meetings and participate in site visits

  • Assist with bid tabulations and quantity take-offs

  • Coordinate project documentation including permits, insurance certificates, contracts, liens, and tax documentation

  • Manage vendor and subcontractor documentation, estimates, and submittals

  • Maintain and update Change Order Logs and RFI Logs

  • Assist with progress billing and invoicing

  • Track compliance documents and job cost reporting support

  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and closeout documentation including waivers and releases

  • Support Project Managers with administrative and logistical needs

  • Maintain organized digital and physical project files

  • Interface professionally with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and field teams

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of administrative or project coordination experience (construction industry strongly preferred)

  • Associates Degree preferred (Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field)

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive

  • Comfortable working in both office and jobsite environments

  • Valid Drivers License (local travel required)

Preferred Skills & Technical Experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Experience with construction software platforms such as: (training available)
    • PlanGrid / Autodesk Build

    • B2W

    • Agtek

    • Civil 3D / AutoCAD

    • Topcon systems

    • SketchUp

  • Familiarity with digital plans, document control systems, and construction reporting tools

  • Comfort with smartphone/tablet-based project management systems

  • Positive attitude and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits
  • $26 $37+ per hour (based on experience)
