Transportation Specialist at DeCoach Rehabilition Center – Cincinnati, Ohio

DeCoach Recovery Centre, a local leader in addiction recovery, is currently hiring a transportation specialist for our Sharonville location. This role is essential for ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient movement of patients, staff, and materials between all DeCoach locations. This position plays a critical part in supporting patient care by facilitating smooth transitions between departments and external locations as needed. The role requires a strong commitment to safety protocols, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple transportation requests simultaneously. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall operational efficiency of the facility by maintaining reliable transportation services. Responsibilities:

• Transport patients safely and comfortably between various departments, treatment areas, and external locations as required.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to schedule and prioritize transportation requests.
• Maintain and inspect transportation equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers, and carts to ensure they are clean, functional, and safe.
• Adhere strictly to hospital safety protocols and infection control standards during all transportation activities.
• Document transportation activities accurately and report any incidents or equipment malfunctions promptly.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record if driving is required.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a healthcare transportation or patient transport role.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and hospital operations.
• Certification in CPR and basic first aid.
• Familiarity with electronic scheduling and communication systems.
• Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
