Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to support our financial operations using QuickBooks Online. This role is ideal for a professional who can manage day-to-day bookkeeping, ensure accurate financial recording, and assist with compliance and auditing processes. The position requires approximately 10-20 hours per week, with flexibility for remote work. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting organizational growth through additional ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience (at least 3-5 years) in accounting or bookkeeping, with strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
  • Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices, including IRS Form 990 preparation and audit processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and external auditors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity, with reliable time management.
Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day accounting tasks in QuickBooks Online, including data entry, transaction processing, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Ensure revenue and expenses are booked correctly, categorizing transactions in compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
  • Reconcile monthly accounts, including bank statements, credit cards, and other financial accounts, to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support for the preparation and filing of IRS Form 990.
  • Assist with other financial projects as assigned, such as budgeting support, financial reporting, or process improvements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Process payroll, including review of approved timesheets before submission.
  • Perform payroll-related record maintenance in accordance with established policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and routine employee inquiries as needed.
