Jr Systems Administrator 1 (Engineer) at ExecRecruitment – Detroit, Michigan

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Technology Services department of the Wayne County Airport Authority is responsible for providing and managing the Airport Authority’s technology needs for both Detroit Metro (DTW) and Willow Run (YIP) airports. The Airport Authority is seeking qualified on-site Systems Administrators (Engineers) who will utilize their knowledge, skills, and abilities to install, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot an enterprise compute, storage, and desktop environment including Office 365, Email, Azure, VMware, Windows Sever, SAN/NAS, Backup, File/Print, Anti-virus, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and support projects as required to meet TS goals and objectives.
• Implement, manage, maintain, and support the System Architecture solutions.
• Provide 24x7x365 support resolution for enterprise hardware and software as needed.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation.
• Provide reports and metrics for performance analysis and growth planning.
• Establish a Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule and execute planned activities.
• Provide technical and operational guidance to staff and contractors as needed.
• Work onsite every day (M-F).
• Perform related duties as directed.

Education Requirement

• B.S in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. OR
• High School Diploma with Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience working in an enterprise infrastructure environment in addition to the time required in the Minimum Qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1-2 years or more experience with basic deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of:
  • Microsoft Server Platforms
    • Windows Server 2019 / 2022 OS
  • Microsoft Software Services
    • Windows Desktop OS
  • Microsoft Management Services
    • Active Directory
  • Understanding of physical Server hardware and storage concepts
    • Dell PowerEdge, HP Proliant
    • Compellent, Pure Storage, DataDomain
  • Familiarity with VMware Virtualization and Management Platforms
    • ESXi
    • vCenter
    • vSphere
• Familiarity with basic deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of:
  • Microsoft Server Platforms: Basic Knowledge of Windows SQL Server
  • Microsoft Software Services
    • Understanding of Microsoft 365 User Management
    • Understanding of Defender (or comparable security tools)
  • Microsoft Management Services
    • Some familiarity with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) or Intune
    • Some familiarity with PowerShell and how it can be used
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, exposure to Microsoft Azure Services (Azure AD, basic governance concepts)
  • Exchange - online or on prem
  • Back up and Recovery solutions - Veeam or similar
  • Ability to assist with data center tasks, including rack and stack of equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs as part of hardware installation duties
