About This Position

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.

GMC has an opening for an Administrative Assistant to support our office in Nashville, TN. You will have the opportunity to create and maintain a collegial work environment and ensure organizational effectiveness, communication and efficiency. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join as a key member of an active, enthusiastic and growing office. This role will have a significant impact through a variety of duties including, but not limited to:

Essential Skills:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Nashville office; either through telephone or face to face
  • Provide general administrative support to various departments within the organization
  • Assist with data entry, filing, scanning, and organizing documents
  • Coordinate meetings and appointments, including scheduling and sending out reminders
  • Assist with event planning and logistics
  • Perform basic research tasks as needed
  • Coordinate the stock of supplies and equipment for day-to-day office operations 
  • Collaborate with team members on special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous office or administrative experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as printers, copiers, and fax machines
  • Knowledge of basic office management software and tools
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and tasks
