This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Moncayo Golf & Ocean Club, set outside of Fajardo, Puerto Rico.
Moncayo Golf & Ocean Club is seeking a Golf Course Equipment Operator to join the Golf Maintenance Department.
Equipment Operator – Golf Course
We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Equipment Operator to join our golf course maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and presentation of the course through the efficient and safe use of specialized equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate maintenance equipment such as mowers (greens, tees, fairways, and rough), trimmers, blowers, and other tools.
- Perform turf cutting following established quality standards and patterns.
- Carry out cultural practices such as verticutting, topdressing, aeration, and general course upkeep.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or mechanical issues.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure proper use of all equipment.
- Support general golf course maintenance tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating landscaping or agricultural equipment (preferably on a golf course).
- Basic knowledge of preventative equipment maintenance.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on golf courses or sports turf maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic agronomic practices.
- Relevant licenses or certifications (e.g., equipment operation, pesticide application, etc.).
