About This Position

JOB SUMMARY: Inventory Control offers comprehensive insights to various departments regarding aligning our product counts with the perpetual inventory in our systems. It ensures timely and transparent communication of any discrepancies. This role also plays an integral part in accountability of system processes, working with team members to understand how to perform their duties. Working independently and collaboratively with team members is essential for success in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Utilize HighJump WMS to manage, oversee, and maintain inventory control processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance with established procedures, and system integrity.

· Conduct regular audits and independently analyze and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records, implementing corrective actions as needed.

· Oversee receiving processes to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely data entry into the HighJump WMS.

· Coordinate and optimize warehouse slotting strategy to ensure efficient utilization of product locations for picking, storage, and overall warehouse flow.

· Collaborate with cross-functional departments to provide real-time inventory insights and support operational and strategic decision-making.

· Generate, interpret, and present HighJump reporting to assess inventory performance, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to leadership.

· Investigate, resolve, and document inventory discrepancies and systemic issues in a timely and independent manner.

· Develop, implement, and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

· Apply advanced knowledge of Material Handling Equipment and warehouse operations within a food distribution environment to support operational efficiency and safety.

· Partner with Purchasing and Logistics teams to communicate inventory status, variances, and risks, and actively support replenishment planning to maintain optimal in-stock levels.

· Lead and perform cycle counts and full physical inventory audits, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company standards.

· Train, support, and provide guidance to team members on effective use of HighJump WMS as it relates to their job functions.

· Serve as the primary point of accountability for high-level inventory reporting and analysis delivered to key internal stakeholders and leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as an inventory control clerk or similar role
  • In depth experience with using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Strong knowledge of RF applications and printing applications in warehousing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective in working under pressure and time management skills
  • Experience in food distribution, preferably in multi-temperature environments with high amount of perishable goods.

  • Problem Solving: Analytical mindset to identify and resolve operational challenges promptly,
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software and basic PC application

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment (ambient, refrigerated, and frozen).
  • Ability to operate safely various material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Work performed in a warehouse setting with occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions and varying levels of noise
  • Typing and viewing of a computer screen as needed. Weekend work as needed.
