About This Position
JOB SUMMARY: The Camp Manager manages, oversees, repairs, and maintains all aspects of the Sag River Living Facility. The Camp consists of but is not limited to modular housing units, outbuildings, water system, sewer system, satellite communications and power generation.
Essential Functions:
Key Responsibilities:
· Serve as main point of contact for Sag River Living Facility.
· Supervise the Camp Administrator and Camp Maintenance Technician, and maintain oversight of all staff working at camp, whether subcontracted or internal.
· Maintains and enforces commercial/industrial standards and prioritizes work.
· Reviews daily reports and performs audits as needed.
· Engage in business development activities to persuade new clients to stay at Sag River.
· Establishes and maintains all internal or contract requirements for operation and/or maintenance and repair of property including utilities, pad, offices, buildings and industrial equipment.
· Works in conjunction with Camp Administrator to control camp inventory, assuring necessary parts, pieces, and tools are available and properly accounted for to ensure cost effective operations.
· Create and maintain maintenance records for the camp, ensuring accuracy and historical information is readily available.
· Supports the corporate Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety pertaining to daily operations, tenants, trades or skills and elements.
· Directs internal maintenance staff and subcontractors, setting schedules and assigning tasks to facilitate all repairs and services, in addition to self-performing maintenance tasks.
· Develops and implements a preventative maintenance program for all building, equipment, and systems.
· Accomplishing all assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
· Coordinate special projects as directed by the President.
· Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service during shift schedule as needed.
· Pad maintenance, including heavy equipment operation.
· Maintaining snow on and around camp exterior, including stairs, landings, in between modules, etc.
· Complete daily maintenance reports, time sheets, job hazard assessment (JHA) reports as needed.
· Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and employees.
· Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job supervises the Camp Maintenance Technician and Camp Administrator.
Requirements:KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
· Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
· Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with plumbing systems, including potable water distribution, wastewater systems, lift stations, water heaters, boilers, heat trace, and freeze mitigation
· Knowledge of diesel power generation systems, including generator operation, load management, paralleling, and backup redundancy
· Familiarity with electrical distribution, transfer switches, panel troubleshooting, and safe lockout/tagout practices
· Understanding of fuel systems, including bulk fuel storage, filtration, transfer pumps, and fuel consumption tracking
· Knowledge of portable water and wastewater storage systems
· Perform heavy equipment operation and snow removal activities
· Ability to interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation
· Experience overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance programs for camp infrastructure
· Ability to prioritize and manage facility repairs in a remote, resource-limited environment
· Supervision of personnel and subcontractors across multiple trades
· Development and execution of PM schedules for HVAC, plumbing, generators, and utilities
· Oversight of spare parts inventory, critical components, and resupply planning
· Ability to coordinate emergency repairs and implement contingency solutions
· Strong understanding of safety procedures for mechanical and electrical systems
· Knowledge of environmental compliance related to fuel, wastewater, and potable water systems
· Ability to create and maintain inspection logs, maintenance records, and regulatory documentation
· Budget management for maintenance, utilities, and repair costs
· Vendor coordination for technical service providers and equipment specialists
· Clear communication with client representatives and operations leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 10+ years’ experience managing remote workforce accommodations supporting 300+ personnel
· Understanding of modular camp infrastructure, including skid units, arctic entries, and utilidors
· Knowledge of extreme weather operational challenges, including winterization and thaw season impacts
· Familiarity with remote logistics, including fly-in/drive-in operations and delayed supply chains
· Background in oilfield, mining, North Slope, or remote industrial camps
