About This Position

Position Title: Massage Therapist

Location: Miami, FL 33144

Description:
The Massage Therapist is responsible for performing therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints.
Job Duties:
  • Applies finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body.

  • Assesses patients’ soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion.

  • Confers with patients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in order to determine whether massage would be helpful.

  • Develops and proposes patients’ treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used.

  • Massages and kneads the muscles and soft tissues of the human body in order to provide courses of treatment for medical conditions and injuries or wellness maintenance.

  • Prepares and blends oils and applies the blends to clients' skin.

  • Maintains treatment records.

  • Provides clients with guidance and information about techniques for postural improvement, and stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and rehabilitative exercises.

  • Administers massage therapy treatments by giving massages; initiating traction; applying physical agents; utilizing hydrotherapy tanks and whirlpool baths, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines; directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.

  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.

  • Maintains patient confidence and protects medical center operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist (required)

  • Licensed Massage Therapist (required)

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
