About This Position

POSITION PURPOSE:
The QC Due Diligence Analyst – Third‑Party Review (Credit Focus) performs comprehensive credit underwriting reviews to validate the quality, accuracy, and eligibility of residential mortgage loans for securitization and whole-loan transactions. This role focuses heavily on borrower qualification, documentation analysis, and assessing whether underwriting decisions meet investor, agency, and TPR credit standards.

The ideal candidate has deep mortgage credit experience, strong file analysis skills, and the ability to evaluate complex borrower scenarios.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Third Party Review (TPR) Credit Execution
• Perform loan-level credit reviews for securitization pools, whole-loan trades, and bulk acquisitions.

• Validate income, employment, assets, liabilities, credit history, and debt ratios using agency, investor, and program-specific requirements.
• Assess whether underwriting decisions were reasonable, well supported, and compliant with investor credit guidelines.
• Confirm accuracy of AUS findings (DU, LPA) and ensure manual underwrites meet program criteria.
• Evaluate loan eligibility based on investor overlays and TPR credit requirements.

Credit Risk & Underwriting Analysis
• Recalculate borrower qualification, DTI ratios, income calculations, and asset sufficiency.
• Review complex self-employed income documentation including tax returns, P&Ls, K 1s, and corporate structures.
• Identify layered risk factors (credit history, collateral, borrower profile) and document their impact on creditworthiness.
• Conduct credit grading using Opus CMC’s TPR framework for capital markets reporting.

Documentation & Findings
• Prepare clear and concise credit defect summaries with supporting rationale.
• Ensure findings meet investor, rating agency, and Opus CMC standards for TPR documentation.
• Draft narrative explanations that support loan-level decisions used by capital markets participants.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all review work.

Collaboration & Client Support
• Participate in calibration sessions to maintain alignment across credit analysts and review teams.
• Provide credit expertise to internal leaders and, when appropriate, support investor interactions.
• Assist in resolving data discrepancies and contributing to continuous process improvement.

Documentation & Reporting

• Accurately document underwriting conclusions, supporting data, and rationale in loan review systems.
• Produce clear and concise credit summaries aligned with Opus and client formatting requirements.
• Flag material issues and escalate high‑risk findings in accordance with SOPs.

Quality & Compliance

• Maintain high accuracy levels consistent with Opus QC standards.
• Review and incorporate feedback from Quality Control to improve accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure adherence to all compliance standards and transaction protocols.

Workflow & Transaction Support

• Meet daily production expectations and transaction deadlines.
• Collaborate with manager, project managers, QC, and peers on pipeline status and issue resolution.
• Participate in calibration sessions to ensure guideline alignment and consistency across teams.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND JOB SKILLS
College Degree preferred or prior work experience equivalent.

• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting, credit review, or TPR due diligence experience.
• Strong understanding of:
• Credit risk assessment
• Agency guidelines (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac)
• Non‑QM programs
• Investor overlays used in capital market transactions

o Non QM programs

o • Ability to analyze credit reports, AUS results, income documentation, asset verification, and borrower qualifications.
o • Experience supporting securitization or whole-loan due diligence preferred.
o • Proficiency with due diligence platforms and LOS environments.
o • High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and written documentation skills
