Position Overview
A wellestablished law firm, widely recognized for its litigation capabilities, is seeking an experienced civil or commercial litigator to join its Asheville office. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of contested matters, contribute meaningfully to a mature practice, and take on increasing responsibility within a sophisticated team of trial lawyers. The position is suited for an attorney who values strategic thinking, strong advocacy, and a collaborative professional environment.

Responsibilities
The attorney will manage an active litigation docket, including evaluating claims, drafting and responding to pleadings, directing discovery, preparing and arguing motions, conducting depositions, participating in negotiations and alternative dispute resolution, and representing clients at hearings, arbitrations, and trials. The role requires the ability to independently drive matters forward while working closely with colleagues on complex or highstakes issues.

Qualifications
• Active North Carolina law license
• Minimum of five years of substantive civil litigation experience
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases from early investigation through resolution
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
• Experience appearing in court or representing clients in evidentiary proceedings
• Ability to work independently while contributing constructively to a team
• Ability to work effectively within a hybrid structure
