About This Position

About the Job:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible in overseeing all locations including our Customer Service Center and ensures all departments are up to standard. The Maintenance Manager ensures that all safety protocols are adhered to throughout all processes. They plan, organize, and execute the required tasks within all our locations across BC, AB, SK. This is a boot on the ground position and perfect for someone who enjoys getting their hands dirty. Additionally, this role is designed for an individual who can efficiently manage the intake of maintenance tickets while executing tasks in real time, balancing both administrative and hands-on responsibilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Prioritize maintenance ticket requests and develop execution plans while staying within budget constraints.
  • Work collaboratively with store staff to ensure all maintenance activities comply with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Able to tackle most “handy jobs” or provide practical solutions in line with company brand and mission; duties may include flooring, drywall, plumbing, painting, and minor construction.
  • Personally execute at least 75% of all maintenance tasks, demonstrating a broad and adaptable skill set across various maintenance responsibilities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
  • Support the events team with setup and takedown at trade shows, such as the Calgary Stampede.
  • Travel regularly to off-site locations (stores) to perform necessary jobs and tasks.
  • Supervise and manage employees to coordinate and execute large-scale event setups, including events like the Calgary Stampede.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and identify cost-effective solutions that maintain company brand standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with a wide range of individuals, including stakeholders and senior leaders, to achieve maintenance goals.

  • Time Management and Flexibility: Manages time efficiently to meet deadlines and adapts readily to changing priorities and schedules, including evening and weekend availability when needed.
  • Technical Knowledge and Mobility: Utilises relevant technical expertise to support work requirements, and is able to travel as necessary—with a reliable vehicle—for both overnight stays (25%) and frequent day trips (75%).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a maintenance position
  • Driver License & Reliable car

The ideal candidate is ready and capable of being on call for after-hours emergencies and collaborating with other departments. They also have relevant experience in retail environments and at traveling worksites.
