If you’re the person everyone calls when a machine goes down—and you can track the issue, fix it, and get production moving again—this is your role.
You’ll be working hands-on with CNC machines, PLC systems (Allen-Bradley), and industrial equipment. This is a service-style role where troubleshooting, problem-solving, and keeping equipment running is the priority.
What You’ll Be Doing- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems (up to 480V, 3-phase)
- Diagnose and fix PLC issues (Allen-Bradley heavily used)
- Work on CNC machines and machine tool electrical systems
- Repair motors, VFDs, control panels, and related components
- Read and follow schematics, prints, and wiring diagrams
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime
- Support equipment installs, upgrades, and improvements
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and get machines back online
- Follow all NEC, OSHA, and safety standards
- Track and document work as needed
- Start your shift with a safety meeting
- Check in on any machines that went down overnight
- Jump into troubleshooting a CNC machine with a PLC fault or electrical issue
- Use a meter to trace a problem—could be a bad sensor, wiring issue, or failed component
- Make repairs or swap parts and test the machine to get it back up and running
- Knock out scheduled PMs on equipment between breakdown calls
- Work with maintenance or production teams to solve recurring issues
- Review prints or logic to track down more complex problems
- Log your work and update notes so the next shift knows what’s been done
- End your day by making sure critical equipment is running and stable
- 3–5+ years of industrial/manufacturing electrical experience
- Strong PLC troubleshooting skills (Allen-Bradley preferred)
- Experience working with CNC machines or machine tools
- Solid understanding of 480V, 3-phase systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics and prints
- Strong troubleshooting mindset—you can figure things out in real time
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or technical program

- Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- Experience with Siemens or other PLC platforms
- Familiarity with CMMS systems
