Job Title: Data Specialist

Department: Afterschool Division
Reports To: Site Program Manager
Schedule: 10-15 hrs, Monday–Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
Duration: Summer Employee (2 months)

Location: Southside Estates Elementary School
Salary: $15.00/hour

Work Environment: This role is based in a school environment with high energy, frequent distractions, and shared spaces. Supervision of students is essential. Program Managers and teachers must be able to plan and deliver engaging activities both in person and virtually. Some duties may occur outdoors in varying weather conditions. Safety, preparation, and adaptability are critical to success.

Summary: The Communities In Schools After School Program—sponsored by Kids Hope Alliance in partnership with Duval County Public Schools—provides academic enrichment to students across selected schools. The Afterschool Teacher supports students through project-based learning, tutoring, homework assistance, and targeted academic strategies for students performing below grade level. This role is responsible for implementing the UFLI curriculum, aligning instruction with district standards, and contributing to a positive academic environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains students' accounts by updating demographic information in tracking systems.
  • Front Desk personnel to greet, call students, and assist the Program Manager with Student documents.
  • Scans all documents.
  • Input Units of Service for Students In SAMIS
  • Run Monthly Attendance Reports daily in SAMIS
  • Verify Sign-in Sheets by Parents
  • Input Food Attendance Report.
  • Handles changes in policies.
  • Any other contributions to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as needed.
  • Acts in a professional manner and values punctuality.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of prior experience with student relations is preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain a strong work ethic and be efficient in their work.
  • Must have a positive and supportive attitude.
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented working environment.
  • Ability to learn and complete new tasks and follow the directions of others.
  • Ability and willingness to cross-train in other areas and or departments.
  • Strong ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to type 35 WPM, error-free
  • A self-motivated individual who takes initiative, seeks opportunities, and is driven
  • Technical and analytical ability, specifically in learning new software
  • Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Word
