Position Summary:

The Vice President of Manufacturing will lead all manufacturing operations for OP Specialty Bracing, including managerial oversight of C-Pro manufacturing in Edenbridge, UK. This role is responsible for ensuring world-class production of orthopedic bracing systems and medical devices across all sites.

This leader will drive strategic growth, operational excellence, product quality, and global scalability as OPSB continues to expand its specialty bracing platform within the pediatric orthopedic market. The Vice President will champion Lean transformation, implement standardized operating systems, and ensure full compliance with ISO 13485 and other regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that support OPSB growth in the global orthopedic bracing market, including scaling production of clubfoot bracing, AFOs, and related devices.
  • Align manufacturing capabilities with the company’s mission to deliver innovative nonsurgical orthopedic solutions worldwide.
  • Along with OPSB leadership, lead long term capacity planning, technology integration, and product commercialization strategies.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee end-to-end production processes, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and high-quality output.
  • Implement best in class lean manufacturing, automation, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Own performance metrics across throughput, labor productivity, scrap reduction, and operational reliability.

Quality & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Maintain compliance with all relevant medical device manufacturing standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure ISO 13485 compliance and strong quality systems.
  • Oversee quality systems to ensure reliability of orthopedic products used in pediatric and global clinical settings.
  • Champion product safety, consistency, and traceability across all manufacturing lines.

Cross Functional Leadership:

  • Collaborate closely with R&D on product improvements and commercialization of new orthopedic bracing innovations.
  • Partner with supply chain, engineering, finance, and commercial teams to optimize forecasting, inventory, and delivery performance.
  • Represent Manufacturing in leadership forums and strategic planning meetings.

Global Supply Chain & Vendor Management:

  • Strengthen domestic and international supply chain networks supporting production across 90+ global markets.
  • Build and manage supplier relationships to ensure the availability of high-quality, materials, and tooling.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop manufacturing teams across engineering, production, quality, and operations.
  • Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
  • Performs all other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Proven executive leadership experience overseeing multiproduct production environments.
  • Demonstrated success improving manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability.

Preferred:

  • Experience with orthopedic bracing systems, AFOs, or other patient specific medical devices.
  • Familiarity with global compliance standards for medical devices.
  • Background working in growth stage or newly acquired business units within larger healthcare organizations.


Primary Location: Iowa (MDO)
Additional Oversight: C-Pro Manufacturing – Edenbridge UK;
Travel: 25–40%
