The Welder 3 position is a skilled trade role focused on performing advanced welding tasks to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components. The Welder 3 will work closely with engineering and production teams to interpret blueprints, specifications, and welding procedures to deliver high-quality results. This position plays a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability and supporting manufacturing or construction projects by producing durable and accurate welds. Ultimately, the Welder 3 contributes to the overall success of projects by ensuring that all welding work meets or exceeds quality and safety expectations within the United States work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal welding training program or apprenticeship.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional welding experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols.
- Ability to pass welding certification tests relevant to the job requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced welding operations using techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding on various metals including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and welding procedure specifications to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect welded joints for defects and perform necessary repairs or adjustments to meet quality standards and codes.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to plan welding sequences and troubleshoot fabrication or repair challenges.
Skills:
The required skills enable the Welder 3 to execute precise and high-quality welds by applying various welding methods and interpreting technical documents daily. Proficiency in blueprint reading and welding symbols ensures accurate fabrication and assembly of components according to design specifications.
