Quality Engineer at Hyperion Solutions – Richmond, Indiana

Hyperion Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our EECO team, based out of Richmond, IN.

Primary Responsibilities:

Quality Management & ISO 9001 Oversight
o Serve as the owner of the site’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, including maintaining documentation, leading process improvements, preparing for audits, and coordinating corrective actions.
o Lead internal and external audit activities—plan audit schedules, conduct process audits, document findings, and drive timely closure of nonconformances.
o Ensure all quality procedures, work instructions, and records remain compliant, current, and effectively implemented across the manufacturing warehouse.

Incoming Inspection & Dock Audits
o Oversee all incoming material inspections, ensuring products meet defined specifications, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
o Perform dock audits to validate supplier shipments, identify nonconformances, and escalate issues promptly to suppliers and internal teams.
o Develop and maintain inspection criteria, sampling plans, and supplier material acceptance standards.

RMA Management
o Own the RMA process for both suppliers and customers—coordinate returns, perform failure analysis or root cause assessments, and ensure clear communication of findings.
o Partner with suppliers to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence of issues.
o Track and report RMA trends, turnaround time, and cost impacts.

Quality Analytics & Performance Tracking
o Maintain and deliver routine quality reporting, including Pareto charts, defect trends, and process performance metrics.
o Lead QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) efforts—facilitate rapid containment, drive root cause analysis, assign corrective actions, and verify effectiveness.
o Track plant-wide quality KPIs, including scrap, rework, returns, and audit results, and present findings to leadership.
o Maintain gage calibration and tracking process

• Continuous Improvement & Cross Functional Support
o Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to drive quality improvements and standardize processes.
o Lead structured problem‑solving activities (5 Why, Fishbone, PDCA, etc.) and support cross-functional improvement initiatives.
o Train and coach employees on quality standards, ISO 9001 requirements, proper documentation practices, and inspection techniques.
o Support the safety committee, serving as a key participant and, where appropriate, leading or owning specific safety initiatives and improvements.
Documentation, Compliance & Process Control
o Ensure accurate, complete, and controlled documentation for all quality records, inspection reports, NCRs, and corrective actions.
o Own calibration schedules for inspection and test equipment, ensuring compliance with ISO and internal requirements.
o Maintain strong change control practices to ensure quality requirements are built into new processes, products, and supplier changes.

Job Requirements:
• 5-7 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Process Management.
• 2 year associate degree from an accredited institution
• ISO Audit Certification
• 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
• 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a manufacturing quality engineer and lead an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
• Experience participating in or leading internal/external audits
• Strong communication skills across production, engineering, supply chain, and leadership.
• High attention to detail and documentation discipline.
• Ability to train and coach employees at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional improvement initiatives.
