About This Position
Plumber
Have you ever wanted to make a difference in someone's life working in health care?
As a plumber for Valleywise Health, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all the plumbing components within our facilities throughout the Valleywise Health network. This includes our free-standing clinics, inpatient behavioral health location, and our new state-of-the-art hospital. You will be working with a team of experts who are critical to the daily workings of our water system. This is a unique opportunity to put your skills to the test and help provide our patients with a worry-free environment while they are being cared for.
Hourly Pay Rate: $24.96 - $36.82
Qualifications
Education:
- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of journeyman plumbing progressively responsible experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Prefer experience in a commercial, industrial, or hospital setting.
Specialized Training:
- Completion of plumbing apprenticeship preferred.
- Uniform Plumbing Code certificate of training is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
- Licensed as a journeyman plumber is preferred.
- Backflow preventer testing certification is preferred.
- Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety OR submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
- Creativity, initiative, independent thinking, and problem-solving skills are strongly preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of fire protection codes, plumbing, and other building systems codes, OSHA requirements, and knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures.
- A proven ability to take and follow directions in the daily performance of duties is required.
- Must have the ability to work independently with limited guidance.
- Must have excellent communication, organizing, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
- Experience with all types of plumbing installations, gas system piping, urinal/closet repair, chiller/boiler piping, and wastewater system required.
