Millwork Project Manager Lead High-End Residential Fabrication and Architectural Interiors Job Overview

  • Location: Brooklyn, NY (Onsite).

  • Project Scope: High-end residential millwork, custom cabinetry, and architect-designed interiors.

The Opportunity

You will serve as the driving force behind our in-house millwork operation, overseeing the full lifecycle of custom cabinetry and architectural woodwork production. This role blends craftsmanship and project management, allowing you to collaborate directly with architects and designers.

You will have the unique opportunity to shape the execution of high-end interiors by ensuring every millwork element meets exact design intent. You will work with a team that values precision, efficiency, and the art of craft.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Directed communication with architects to clarify and execute design intent for all millwork components.

  • Coordinated closely with site superintendents to ensure seamless delivery and installation of custom cabinetry.

  • Managed the shop drawing process by directing remote drafters and submitting samples for approval.

  • Executed precise field measurements to ensure fabrication and installation alignment with site conditions.

  • Monitored procurement of materials and shop supplies while maintaining strong vendor relationships.

  • Scheduled production workflows in collaboration with the Shop Foreman to optimize shop output.

  • Analyzed project costs and production budgets to ensure consistent profitability and efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cabinetmaking, millwork, or custom woodworking.

  • Proven experience managing shop operations or leading production teams.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders including designers and subcontractors.

  • Proven track record with budgeting, cost tracking, and material procurement.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Drafting experience or proficiency with CAD software and shop drawing processes.

  • Specific experience working on high-end residential or luxury interior projects.

  • Background in coordinating custom fabrication across multiple trades such as metal and glass.

  • Strong leadership background with experience building and mentoring teams.
