Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Boat Closing Coordinator to manage the financial and administrative side of boat sales transactions from contract through closing.
This role is a unique blend of accounting, contract coordination, and operations, supporting both Sales and Accounting teams to ensure accurate, timely, and seamless closings.
What You'll Do:
Accounting & Financial
- Prepare journal entries and post to the general ledger
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Reconcile intercompany and contract-related accounts
- Post cash and maintain accurate financial records
- Manage boat sales contracts from execution through closing
- Track deposits and payments
- Coordinate with brokers, clients, and internal teams
- Ensure accurate disbursement of funds
- Calculate and process broker commissions
- Maintain commission and sales tracking reports
- Coordinate with Payroll, as needed, for employee commissions
- Manage new boat order files and payment schedules
- Coordinate with Service on delivery readiness
- Support audits and maintain organized records
What We're Looking For:
Required
- 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience in marine, yacht brokerage, or high-value sales
- Familiarity with Dockmaster or similar systems
- Experience with multi-entity or trust/escrow accounting
Schedule & Benefits
- Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Non-Exempt rate of $65,000 - $75,000 based on experience
